The Artist
Joseph Valadez
Texas artist. Father. Systems builder. Painter of landmarks, weather, landscape, and stories that carry weight.

Kerrville, Texas
Painting with purpose.
Joseph Valadez is a Texas artist whose work is rooted in the Hill Country, New Braunfels, Gruene, Western landscape, dramatic weather, and the places people carry with them.
He works primarily in acrylic and has also explored watercolor, sculpture, carving, murals, and custom functional art. His approach moves between detailed architectural work and more expressive studies of color, atmosphere, and landscape.
In October 2021, Miller Imaging & Digital Solutions in Austin selected Joseph as its Artist of the Month, featuring the painting now titled Gruene at Dawn. In December 2021, he completed a large circular mural at iCRYO New Braunfels celebrating the scenery, landmarks, and culture of New Braunfels and Gruene.

Fatherhood gave the work a deeper purpose.
My daughter, Shiloh, is at the center of why I create. Painting gives me a constructive way to keep building—to work with discipline, create stability, and make something meaningful from the experiences that shape my life.
Every painting represents time, patience, faith, and the decision to keep moving forward. I want Shiloh to grow up knowing that her father continued to show up, continued to create, and continued working toward a steady and meaningful future for the life we share.
I want the artwork to stand on its own. But behind it is something simple: fatherhood gives the work its purpose. I paint with the hope of building stability, creating opportunities, and giving my daughter something lasting to be proud of.
I paint for my daughter.
